Effective Term 3, 2025
At KRB Swim School, we are committed to providing a high-quality aquatic education experience in a safe, structured and supportive environment. The following terms and conditions are designed to ensure smooth operations and the best outcomes for all swimmers.
By enrolling in the KRB Swim Program, you acknowledge that you have read, understood and agreed, on behalf of yourself and/or your child(ren), to the terms and conditions outlined below. For any enquiries, please contact us at swimming@krb.nsw.edu.au.
SWIMMING CAPS
Swim Caps are compulsory for all students, both male and female over the age of 3. They keep hair out of the eyes and mouth and allow goggles to slip on more easily. They also help enormously with the pool filtration and therefore keep the pool clean.
ENROLMENT and PAYMENT
Enrolment is confirmed upon receipt of full payment. All fees are due prior to the commencement of the term.
Missed classes are not refundable or transferable. Credits are not issued for non-attendance unless under exceptional circumstances; verifiable illness of 3+ weeks supported by a Medical Certificate.
KRB reserves the right to cancel or modify classes based on operational needs, instructor availability or pool conditions.
CANCELLATION OF YOUR TERM ENROLMENT
$30.00 cancellation fee: If your booking is cancelled after payment but prior to the start of term.
$50.00 cancellation fee and all lessons fees up to this date: If your membership is cancelled between the first day of term and the last day of the fourth week.
After week 4, KRB will not accept any cancellation for that given term
CREDIT POLICY
Credits will only be considered for students who have missed three or more consecutive lessons due to major illness, injury (e.g., broken bones), or hospitalisation. A valid medical certificate must be provided to support the request.
Credits will not be granted for any other reason. This includes absences due to going away on holidays, exams or clashes with other activities.
Customer credits issued by KRB are valid for 12 months for the date they are issued. Any remaining balance after 12 months will automatically expire and cannot be refunded or extended.
MAKE UP LESSONS
We do not provide credits or refunds for missed or unused lessons. For lessons missed due to public holidays or pool closures, the term fee will be reduced accordingly.
- One (1) make-up lesson is permitted per class enrolment, per term.
- Make-up lessons may be booked from Week 2 and are subject to class availability.
- Make-up lessons must be taken within the same term and cannot be transferred to a sibling, another term, or holiday program.
- A confirmed make-up booking is final. No further rescheduling will be permitted.
PARENT & GUARDIAN GUDELINES
To help KRB Swimming create a safe and positive leaning environment, we ask that you
- Treat all students, staff and community members with respect and courtesy.
- Celebrate your child’s achievements—focus on progress, not mistakes.
- For enquiries, please speak with the Swim Coordinator or Pool Deck Supervisor.
- Please do not approach instructors during lesson times.
- Support instructors by ensuring your child is focused and respectful during class.
- Encourage your child to participate to the best of their ability.
- Accompany children to the bathroom if needed.
- Respect all facility rules and follow directions from KRB staff.
SWIM CLOTHING
Strict rules apply to baby or toddler’s attire whether toilet trained or not. All children under the age of 3 years must wear a disposable swimming nappy covered by a snuggly-fitting Happy Nappy.
Girls: One-piece swimsuit
Boys: Firm-fitting swim briefs or jammers
Rash shirts, board shorts, and wetsuits are not recommended as they can restrict movement and hinder learning. Standard lycra rash vests do not provide warmth and may add unnecessary drag if not snug-fitting.
Goggles are not required for students under 3 years. However, goggles are recommended for subsequent levels as children place their face under water for longer periods of time.
HEALTH AND WELLBEING
Swimmers experiencing illness, including cold/flu-like symptoms, should not attend lessons.
We reserve the right to exclude swimmers from lessons if they are unwell or if their participation poses a risk to others.
CLASS STRUCTURE AND PROGRESSION
- Class placement is determined by skill level, age and swimmer readiness.
- All new swimmers (except under 3 years or unable to swim 5m unassisted) are assessed before joining a class.
- Progression through levels is based on individual skill development and coach recommendation.
SAFETY AND SUPERVISION
- All children under 8 years old must be accompanied into the centre and supervised by a parents or guardian at all times.
- Parents/guardians are responsible for placing their children into our instructors care at the commencement of each lesson and collecting them at the conclusion
- Children must not enter the water until directed by their instructor.
- KRB swimming reserves the right to refuse entry, cancel lessons, or request a person to leave the premises, if that person does not behave in a responsible manner, or is threatening to staff or other patrons.
CHANGE FACILITIES
Changing rooms are available; however, we encourage swimmers to arrive “ready to swim” where possible.
Children aged 6 years and under should be accompanied by a parent at all times while using the change rooms.
Boys over the age of 6 are not permitted in the female change room and girls over the age of 6 are not permitted in the male change rooms.
Personal belongings should not be left unattended in change rooms. All belongings are the responsibility of the swimmer. KRB swimming is not liable for lost or stolen items.
PHOTOGRAPHY AND MOBILE PHONES
Learning to swim is an important step in a child’s life. Understandably some parents want to film or photograph their child’s progress. However, the presence of cameras can cause concern for some parents.
In order to respect everyone’s privacy, parents wishing to film or photograph their child at the swim school are asked to consult with the Supervisor, prior to doing so.
The use of mobile phones is not permitted in the change rooms.
COMMUNICATION
All important information, including class updates and term schedules, is communicated via email. Please ensure contact details remain current.
Any concerns or feedback regarding classes should be directed to the Swim School Coordinator.
CHANGES TO OUR TERMS AND CONDITIONS
KRB Swimming reserve the right to update our terms and conditions from time to time, and the amended version will be posted on our website and will take effect immediately. If deemed necessary, the amended terms and conditions will also be emailed to customers.
