FITNESS – BLUE SQUAD
Designed for swimmers aged 12 to 15 who are looking to advance their technique, speed and fitness to support performance across a range of aquatic disciplines, including surf lifesaving, water polo and school swimming.
This 50 minute squad session provides a structured and progressive environment where athletes continue to refine all four competitive strokes, starts, turns and underwater skills, with a strong emphasis on aerobic development. Training sessions are tailored to build speed and endurance, ensuring swimmers are well-prepared for the physical demands of their chosen aquatic sport.
Swimmers in the Blue Squad are encouraged to attend club race days to further develop their race skills and apply their training in a competitive setting. These experiences not only enhance performance but also help instill confidence, discipline and a strong racing mindset.
The Blue Squad also serves as a transitional stage for young athletes who may not be pursuing high-level competitive swimming but are committed to improving their performance across multiple aquatic environments. Upon turning 16, swimmers in the Blue Squad will transition to the Adult Squad, where they can continue training in a fitness-focused program aligned with their personal goals.
Training Focus:
- Technical refinement across all strokes
- Speed and endurance development
- Race skills and pacing strategies
- Preparation for school carnivals, surf competitions, and water polo performance
FITNESS – ADULT SQUAD
The Adult Squad (1 hour) offers a professional and motivating setting for swimmers to improve their skills, stay active and enjoy the many benefits of lifelong swimming.
Designed for swimmers aged 16 and over, this squad caters for a wide range of abilities—from those returning to the pool for general fitness to those training for competition or other aquatic pursuits. Participants should have a basic level of swimming proficiency, including the ability to swim at least 100m of continuous freestyle with good technique.
This squad provides a supportive and inclusive environment, offering structured sessions focused on stroke development, fitness and individual goals. While all four strokes are introduced and refined, there is no requirement to swim every stroke, allowing each swimmer to tailor their training to suit their needs and interests.
Coaching is personalised to ensure swimmers receive ongoing stroke correction, technical feedback and training guidance. Whether your focus is on improving technique, building endurance, training for ocean swims or triathlons, or simply maintaining a healthy lifestyle, the Adult Squad offers a balanced and flexible approach to swim training.
Training Focus:
- Technique development across all strokes
- Aerobic and anaerobic conditioning
- Goal-specific training (fitness, triathlon, open water, competition)
- Individualised coaching support and feedback
